It would be good if a buyer or contributor could share a specific image from the site with a URL and embeded "player" sort of like YouTube or Lulu.com. In blogging platforms such as Blogger, if one inserts the image URL or the file itself, there is no link to take the viewer to the originating page. It just takes them to another blogger page with an isolated image. Not sure if this if the stock sites could circumvent it. However, I think an embedded viewer/player might do the trick.

I know of the ad on the FWA site - How much is that ad costing you, and have you been able to track people who have clicked and then of the clicks how many people sign up, and are these people Buyers or Sellers?

I love doing web advertising and setting up tasks that will get the people, and the right people.

There are some things that might need to be changed, and or tested to see what the Customers and Contributors really want from your site, we would need to find the right people to complete a poll and survey, and have a Big Red Feedback button fixed to the right side of the browser to get users what they want.

I could go on and on, but I think we need to find a chat program that we could communicate very easily.

Skype is one of the best business FREE software IM's to use. www.skype.com

Not so sure trying to "control" the company is a polite way of making your point. My daughter's teacher always says "control yourself." The Stockfuel team has alot on their hands and competition is steep. Just do what you can to help on your own initiative, let your deeds manifest themselves and I'm sure everyone will be more successful.

fx that is great that you put a banner on the side of your site/ Do you get a lot of visitors? I don't mean to be anything but helpful here, and I would like to know what kind of traffic you get. THe site looks like it was made in 1999

I hope that people would go to that site and then click the stockfuel link and find out more, but Is this the best place for advertising? Its free, so that is great, but where are the other advertising banners and ads Jaybirch?

I have some ideas for places you might want to put your ads since you said you have a nice budget and you welcomed ideas from US.

I'm glad to see a new person here, I have felt like one of the only contributors / freelancers that check into this site to see if there is a community, and this is currently an apartment with 3 roomates, and now neighbors are starting to occupy other areas.

I really want to see this company Grow, and Get noticed, I have talked with Jaybirch a while back, and I had some ideas, but it would be for a similar site with different feature, look, and pricing, and different marketing strategies.

I really think that If I was able to control this company in a partnership, and have option to brainstorm together my ideas with stockFuel, I know we could have StockFuel go from low flame, to 3 alarm Fire!

Let me know if you want to work together on some plans and ideas, and strategies that I have been thinking about for this type of company for 7 years (starting in 2003)

Keywording on Stockfuel is no problem since you import it and don't require a second level submission process. Maybe you could offer a paid service for those that hate doing it and offer some kind of suggestions that automatically pop up for those who want to make sure they get it right. I suppose anything to help connect the right searches with the right content will benefit everyone.

I have to say StockFuel has one of the best no-nonsense interfaces for contributors. I have submitted to many other sites and the submission process is very clunky and inefficient (stinks). You need to know what you're doing with keywords here, but other than that, I hope it works out for the company and the contributors. Thanks.

I agree. It is very well put together. Certainly beats the some of the other sites I contribute to. Also, the use of iSyndica allows me to upload all the keywords, titles and descriptions effortlessly. All I need to do is note the category and the it is! Almost effortless. I wish the site well.

What may be great in the future IMHO would be (if possible) to let composers/sellers know what content people are looking for! Maybe a database that showcases what people are searching for the most, or at least a genre that is heavily searched for new content. I love this site though!!

On many videos they are shot in public areas where buildings, people, logos and other identifiable subjects may be in the capture. These type of videos are very legitimate stock subjects that can be used for anything other than a commercial endorsement of a product. Can SF put a statement that the buyer can see which ones are considered editorial. I know it is the buyer/users responsibility to determine the proper use but this may help avoid confusion.

Maybe something like: NOTICE: No model/property release is available for this photo, video or file. This file may be suitable for editorial (news and documentary) use only.

Hi, the problem is that adding a watermark can add compression artifacts around the logo area, some people may mistake that as a fault in the video itself.

We will try it a little more this week to see if we can get it to look good.

Video Full Frame Concerns

I'm a bit concerned about the lack of watermark on the option to download a full frame from a video file.
Anyone could download a 2.2mb png file of a hi-def video and upscale it for web or small print usage.

Can we have some type of watermark please as a deterrent.

To start uploading and selling stock flash on our site, your files will need to be prepared as follows:

File preparation:

1) A .zip file containing all source files required - .fla, .swf and any other items required (.xml, .html etc). The files should be neat and tidy, with easy to understand layers and named items. Any code should be well documented and easy to understand. A help file is always beneficial for any complex products.

2) A demo version of your Flash file:
- If your product is 590 x 300 or below, upload a demo .zip containing a .swf (named preview.swf) within the dimensions 590 x 300 (plus any other required files... an .xml file, for example.... please note that .php files will not work in the demo file.)
- If your product is larger than 590 x 300, upload a demo .zip file containing a jpeg image of your product with a size between 300 x 300 and 590 x 300 (named preview.jpg)... plus a .swf (named preview.swf) with your chosen dimensions (plus any other required files... an .xml, for example)

3) Create a JPEG thumbnail that best represents your product, with the dimensions between 80x80 and 110x100.
