FTP Upload
We allow contributors to upload their content using FTP. Currently, we support Audio, Video, Imagery and Vector. Flash and After Effects are coming soon.
How it works:
When a contributor uploads using FTP, our system will try to find the required info - Title, Description and Keywords for the uploaded file. First it searches for metadata (as specified in the METADATA section), then it searches for a CSV file (as specified in the CSV section). In case our system finds both, CSV takes precedence. Also our system will try to match keywords to StockFuel's media categories. Categories can only be specified in a CSV file.
After the scan 3 things can happen:
1 - File is not supported or doesnt meet the requirements - gets deleted;
2 - File is ok but system didn't find one or all of the required info (Ttitle, Description, Keywords) - gets marked as pending and the contributor gets an email so they can come to StockFuel and fill in the missing info.
3 - File is ok and all the required info was found - file gets sent to a reviewer.
At the end of each day, uploaders will receive an email with a report, telling wihch files were processed, which were deleted, which had problems and which are pending.
Pending files are deleted after 14 days. For a contributor to fill in the missing info on a pending file, he just needs to log in into StockFuel and go to the upload section of the pending file media type. For instance, if it's a video, contributor needs to go to the upload video page. On that page a popup will appear with a list of pending video files so he can choose one by one.
Anytime a contributor has pending files, the popup will appear on the relevant page, the page will also have a "Browse FTP" button to manually select pending files.
